as one of the last remaing occupants of the glass and steel structure our days are numbered as we prepare to move to a bigger location not far away from where we are now (is it the valley of the kings?). During the last seven months i have developed a loving relationship with the building - the views of the golf-course across the street; the roaring jet planes above our head; the mid-day lunches in the palm-lined atrium - just stuff an average worker could ask for.
my present job is my second incarnation in the pyramid. The first one when i was fresh out of college and i was a design assistant for the now-demise Treasures Furniture. I still remember its glorious days with its sweeping staircase and my little drafting office in one of the corners at the base of pyramid. Those days are gone when this pyramid was built to rival the now-defunct san diego design center in sorrento valley.
i wonder if i could still have the same mid-day lunches on our new location. But i heard there is a fountain. Hmm...
