on my recent visit to the mingei, i came across one of the sculptures displayed on the pedestal. It pulled me like a magnet and came closer to it. I looked at it at every angle for a little while and the last thing i did was took a closer look at the name of the artist. Yoonchung Kim. I immediately remembered she was my ceramics professor back in college and whom i learned from the ancient method of japanese clay firing - the raku. I considered her as one of the best art teachers.
